Webmaster Notice:
Welcome to the newly redesigned Windy City BMW web site.
A significant effort has gone into reorganizing the site and bringing content up to date. There are many pictures and new
sections such as a gallery to make them easier to find. There is also a revamped classifieds section.
As I created the new site I saw that many of the pictures came from Larry Schettel, Jeff Corey and Richard Novinger as well as a few others. Their
efforts and support are greatly appreciated, but the web site is a community effort. If you have pictures from past events, please feel free to contact
me and I will be happy to include them. However, pictures only tell a part of the story; if you have a colorful recap or story to tell about an event you
participated in, please submit that to me and I will be happy to include in the website.
My pledge is to keep the site as current as possible, and pictures and event information will typically be posted a few days
after an event occurs. The calendar is always up to date, so please check the site often for updates and important information on upcoming events. The web
site is also a work in progress. I had to rush to get the basic capabilities up in the new format, so look for improvements and new capabilities to come.
Since the site is new I am sure that there will be a glitch or two, so if you have a problem please contact me and provide as much background as you can or as
detailed a description as you can. A couple of notes:
- The first time you visit a new page it may take a few seconds to load.
- Some registration and other documents are in PDF format. Opening those successfully may depend on what version of the Adobe Acrobat you have. You can always download the
current reader for free at www.adobe.com
- There is no spell check and my grammar is not perfect. That said, my ego is not offended if you find a typo or grammar error. Please contact me and I will make the corrections.
On a personal note... Work has taken me to Boston and now to Utah, but Martha and I have remained active Windy City BMW members. While I can't be there physically to participate in the events, I am
pleased to participate vicariously by being the current webmeister. Windy City BMW has been and continues to be one of the most active and well run chapters in the country. My hope is that the web site encourages
you to join a membership meeting, participate in a Car Control Clinic or tour a world class track in a Driving School. The club is not only about cars (in fact you don't even have to own a BMW to participate)
but is all about the people. It’s
great fun, and I am proud to be part of it.
Sincerly,
David Holeman
