Club Racing:
This is wheel to wheel racing and is a serious competition event for qualified members.
Windy City BMW Members race against other club members from around the country for top
standing in the club. Victory is honored at the annual Oktoberfest.
This is an amateur event and no contact rules apply. Your prize is the thrill
of the race and bragging rights.
You must be qualified to enter a club race. You must have your club license
and your car must be properly prepared. Most club members spend several years
attending drivers schools, earning points and building skills, before they enter
the world of club racing. There is a mutual trust between the club racers
and this helps keep the events safe and spirits high.
Club racing is not cheap and you must be prepared to damage or lose your car and
face the disappointments of bad luck, equipment failures, unpredictable conditions.
The cost to prepare and maintain a race ready car can be substantial. However,
nothing compares to the thrill of competing wheel to wheel on a real track.
You don't have to be a club racer to enjoy the event. Club races are open
to members who wish to attend. You will get caught up in the event and it
is great fun to see folks you know fighting for position on the track.
